Hi Ann,
The most useful training qualification I gained was through Jan Fennell as a certified Dog Listener.
The dog training industry does not have a world wide governing board in the same way that say a Microsoft qualification or Engineering qualification is recognised across countries, so the certification that you receive would not be cross-credited in another country.
Each dog training organisation is essentially self managing with some being more of an umbrella organisation such as APDT and IACP of which I am a member.

Dan, what qualifications did you sit to become a behaviourist, and are those qualifications recognised by accredited education providers? That is, could they be cross-credited if I was to move to another country?

I would love to be a dog trainer. Dog rescues need trainers to help them with dogs so they can find forever homes faster and not be returned for poor behavior. My two dogs are both rescues and very sweet dogs. They are also very large and need a lot of training. We have tried taking them to trainers, but it has never worked out. Mostly because my husband doesn’t follow through. Can I buy DVDs from you?
