Hi Jill, it really does depend. If the weather is even mildly warm then the inside of a car can heat up very quickly in full sun, even with the windows open. Our dogs are also not able to cool themselves as efficiently as we do, they don’t sweat and predominantly cool themselves through panting and they can find this very difficult to do in a hot car.
