Hi Deborah…the first thing you want to check is that your dog doesn’t have any allergies. If he spends time exercising in long grass then this would be an allergic reaction. After a walk it may help to rinse his feet off with water or even try soaking them for a few minutes in a Calendula flower tea…it has soothing, itch reducing qualities. Some dogs do chew their feet as a result of anxiety or attention seeking so be really careful how you respond when he does this. If you can offer him something else to take his mind off it, like a dog chew, then this could also be helpful. Best, Doggy Dan
